Haven't been drawing lately so I thought this would be a good way to get back in the saddle.Relatively simple piece but I really didn't know much about Azrael and I honestly find the costume to be quite atrocious.
Was a nice exercise.

Back in the 90's, I thought Batman + Armor + Claws was cool, but I was a kid so what did I know. Still, looking at this composition reminds me of the elements that kept this costume in my mind when it should have faded in obscurity: The bat wings and the mouthless mask. There was something about AzBats, with his featureless mask and blood red eyes, swooping down from the heavens bellow, like some demon in the night, that was primal cool. Before Terry McGuiness and Arkham City made a habit of it, this was the coolest thing i ever saw from Batman... the guantlet had potential but it was far too bulky.
